Lea, 7, lives with her mom and little brother Jonas, in a house by the woods outside of town. One day, while Lea plays in the garden with her brother, Jonas disappears into the forest. Lea overcomes her fear of the forest and sets out to find him. She meets Captain Bik, a small wormlike creature, who claims to be a Forest Pirate with an army of one thousand pirates. The other pirates, only two in total, Vik and Dot, reinforce his delusion of having an army with a thousand pirates. Together they set out on a quest to find Jonas and recover the Pirates' treasure map, that has been stolen by the evil snake, Roach. They meet the scientist Mr. Budnikov and explore his crazy inventions, find Jonas, get back the stolen map and even get an addition to Captain Bik's army – a big and kind troll. Lea and The Forest Pirates is a little girl's adventure set up in the fairytale world of the nordic forest.
