About Snowcloud Films
Snowcloud Films is a small, independent production company in Stockholm, founded 2014 by producer Petter Lindblad. We focus on projects for children and youths, mainly animation. Specializing in low-cost, lean productions with high quality screen results. Own projects as well as co-producing internationally.
The project
We are preparing to start production of a 3D-animated feature film by Danish director Esben Toft Jacobsen (features: THE GREAT BEAR, BEYOND BEYOND, series: 3x KIWI & STRIT, FLORA & LARS, co-creator of the Netflix show THE RAIN), and are looking to add some 3D-artists to the team, located primarily in Stockholm* (read details below).
The film is a co-production between Swedish Snowcloud Films, Danish Nørlum and DutchViking Film, written and directed by Esben Toft Jacobsen. We will be working in Maya using Vray and comping in Nuke.
It is a stylized project, aiming for the look of the production design, see above. We are animating in a pose-to-pose approach on 2s, leaning towards stop-motion. We have a pipeline where we will paint a lot of details after rendering, to add details, make it look more 2,5D and save render time.
Artists we're looking for
We are looking to add artists for the following roles, adding to our existing team:
- One 3D-modeler/texture artist (est jan-jun 2026): character (a little), props and set modelling and texturing. Supervised by our lead3D-artist. (Maya, Z-brush/similar, hand-painted textures in Substance Painter/similar)
- One 3D-rigger (est jan-jun 2026): will do all rigging supported by our TD-artist. (Maya, Advanced Skeleton will be used for bodies, and custom rigging and most time on face/head-rigging for acting)
- Two lighting artists (est jan-aug + mar-nov 2026): shading, lighting, rendering - one with a focus on shading/lookdev/lighting based on the look from our animation test, one focus on lighting and rendering, getting files ready for comp. (Maya, Vray, Deadline)-
- One VFX-/2D-artist (est apr-nov 2026): animated FX like water, dust, background elements (Blender: 3D-water with animatedtextures/geometry nodes, 2D-animation in Grease pencil)
- One Compositing artist (est mar-dec 2026): Setting the look and style from our animation test, a stylized 2,5D-look with paint-overs on all shots from pre-comp. Includes supervising an additional comp-artist. (Nuke)
Senior and mid-level artists only. We are asmall team and are limited in offering junior positions. You have experience tin similar size productions, may it be features, series, vfx, game cinematics, commercials etc. We need to see similar work in your portfolio or in a test.
The project coordinator we're looking for
They will help manage the team and project with the main producer Petter at Snowcloud Films. We are looking for a project coordinator that has IT- and3D-experience. You are perhaps a 3D-generalist, a junior TD or anIT/media-engineer with some 3D-experience that have started to coordinate and manage projects and is interested in going more into project management or producing.
Full-time position during the production on-site in Stockholm.
The role will support remote artists working on in-studio workstations, coordinate all technical tasks (we have a coordinator for all animation work at Nørlum) including breakdown, planning, modelling, texturing, rigging, lighting, rendering, compositing. Working close with our Danish TD and animation coordinator and the Swedish producer.
You are tech-savvy and can fix environment variables in Windows, administer render managers, and have experience setting up tasks and assets in some project management or pipeline system. We will be using Kitsu+Prism+Deadline. You don't need experience in these specific tools, but you are familiar with working with similar tools, breaking down projects and prioritizing tasks. If a computer crashes, you'll be first in line to get it up and running.
Other info
*Important: If you have worked with us before, remote work is possible, but if you haven't worked with us (Snowcloud Films or the co-producers) you are required to work onsite in the Stockholm studio 100%.
Not offering: We are not looking for other roles than the above mentioned, or offering internships. We are offering project employment, not service work for other studios.
We are looking primarily for artists already living in the Stockholm area, we welcome all nationalities to our already mixed team, but cannot assist in relocation, and will prioritize artists already living in Sweden. We are hoping to add to our rooster of talented artists that already live here, to expand our network for future projects. We tend to re-hire artists we've worked with before, as many of our heads of departments are artists we have worked with on other projects.
Send an email with CV and link to portfolio to contact@snowcloud.se and we will get back to you.
We will not reply to unsolicited emails
Please respect that we are looking for the specific roles and conditions above, due to financing, planning and to ensure a good production. We don't have the resources to reply to requests outside the above-mentioned roles.
